You get what you pay for here, and it's actually a neat little novelty setup. Perfect for lowering a line off the side of a dock or into a creek. You can't really cast with it and don't try because you'll destroy the internals of the reel. Great for micro fishing.
Don't get any idea, this isn't meant to fish with, and if you tried to it will not work very well, it's more of a novelty item, it could catch maybe baby fish but it would break easily. Its fun to play with though and people like it.
Good quality
The pen rod is extremely lightweight and very easy to put together! Was able to take it up to some lakes in Idaho and catch some small trout with it without breaking it. Don't know how much bigger of a fish I would try to catch with it but it held up well. Only qualm I have with the product is that it did not come with any fishing line. Other than that I would say BUY!
